Bộ phim thu hút được sự quan tâm của không chỉ khán giả trẻ tuổi, các bà nội trợ mà ngay cả những khán giả cao tuổi, khó tính nhất cũng phải ngóng trông và theo dõi từng tập của bộ phim.Nhắc tới quá trình Việt hóa của phim, đạo diễn Vũ Hồng Sơn cho biết, các nhà làm phim muốn đưa nhiều yếu tố văn hóa Việt vào Cầu vồng tình yêu. Ngoài tình yêu của các cặp đôi, phim còn chạm tới mối quan hệ gia đình mang hơi thở xã hội Việt Nam, trách nhiệm bậc cha mẹ, và đạo lí làm con. “Chúng tôi ý thức phải làm bộ phim Việt. Thà khán giả xem phim phản hồi phim chưa hay, còn hơn là mang tiếng phim nhái Hàn Quốc”, đạo diễn phim cho biết. Chỉ đạo sản xuất, Giám đốc VFC Đỗ Thanh Hải cũng chia sẻ: “Lâu rồi mới có dịp làm phim được đầu tư cẩn thận, nhiều tâm huyết đến thế”.…
